Does exactly what it's supposed to do very well!

I'm a big fan of this grill. Pellets are easier but there is a bit of a taste difference between this charcoal Vs pellets. If you're an amateur smoker I suggest something with pellets but a snob like me I like the charcoal briquettes better. Just get used to starting the charcoal and then this thing is fantastic! I'm not a huge fan of the griddle top but the pizza oven works pretty well. But for smoking things this thing is incredible!

Anyone can become a bbq pit boss with this Grill

I originally purchased a 1050 Gravity, when I used it 3 times the controls stopped working. reluctantly I returned it and ordered another one and I'm glad I did. This grill cooks everything and does it very well. I love the fact that the engineers got it right.

Best Grill/Smoker Evah!

Bought the 500 series when they first came out. Wore that grill/smoker out. Next up the 800. Finally a charcoal grill/smoker you can griddle on too. Love mine, have used well over one year. Love the ease of use so much so certain dishes get baked on this instead of the indoors electric oven (pizza in my 12" cast iron skillet). I use mine to smoke pork butt, beef packer briskets, basically any and everything (eggs, bacon, on and on). Just buy one

Fantastic

I bought this thing a month ago and I absolutely love it. I and trying to decide what to do with my kamato grill and my gas grill and my other electric smoker   I have no use for any of the other outdoor cooking appliances. If you don't have one you are missing out. I have been telling everyone how awesome this thing is

GREAT Smoker!

I bought this unit about 3 years ago and it works still like a champ. Haven't had to replace anything yet. I will buy another one again and again. If you like charcoal and no babysitting this is calling you name! I use mine low and slow always at 225 and always mixed my charcoal hopper with pecan wood chunks!

Best Smoker I've Owned

When I bought this last spring I only wish I had purchased one ears before. I believe this is the best smoker that I've ever owned I've had a masterbuilt gas 30 in and a pit Boss ultimate Memphis and this is best overall. I love that you can just set it and forget it. Everything that I have smoked or grilled we're done on the flat top has such phenomenal flavors. I can't wait to do the corned beef for St Patrick's Day this year on it.

Great charcoal grill.

Smoke, grill, and sear all with one grill. I love the charcoal flavor of grilling, now it's almost as easy as a gas grill.

Question:
Can you use ONLY real wood chunks instead of charcoal?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hey Kyle! You can use charcoal briquettes or lump charcoal! It is important to never use fast light charcoal or lighting fluid.

Asked by KyleAnswered by James

Question:
Can you grill with the hood open? Or will the fan turn off?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hey Joel! This grill has a lid switch as a safety feature. If you set the temperature above 500F, the grill will regulate the temperature to 500F when the grill lid is open. Once the lid is closed the grill will return to the set temperature. If the set temperature is below 500F, the controller will continue to regulate the grill at the set temperature when the grill lid is opened.

Question:
When you are done cooking does the grill continue to burn until all the coals in the hopper are gone, or does it have a means of stopping the burn?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
When the metal slides are inserted after cooking is over, it shuts off the air flow and the fire goes out. I usually get 3-4 burns out of a load of charcoal

Question:
What are the Min/Max temperature settings? For example, can it hold at 150°F?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi TK. The lowest temperature setting is 150 degrees, and the high is 700.

Asked by TKAnswered by Joey, BBQGuys Expert

Question:
If the power goes out, or the electronics are defective, can this still be used with traditional fire management skills? Of if the power goes out this thing is a paperweight? This is my hesitation with Pellet grills in that I will get ready to have an amazing cookout only to find that the darn thing is on the fritz and I can't use it. I'm leaning toward a traditional Charcoal grill or stick burner since I know that system well, but the convience of this grill is appealing. Thank you for your time.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Joe. Electricity is required for the fan to run which controls the temperature. Pellet grills are reliable and convenient, but they come with the stipulation that you must be near a working outlet (or have a power inverter for portable use in some cases).

Asked by JoeAnswered by Joey, BBQGuys Expert

Question:
what is the lowest temperature setting possible ? is this smoker capable of cold smoking salmon filets ?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Isaac. The lowest temperature setting for this grill is 150 degrees. This is typically too high for cold smoking, and Masterbuilt does not make a cold smoking accessory for the Gravity Series at this time. I would recommend checking out some BBQing forums for tips possibly.

Asked by IsaacAnswered by Joey, BBQGuys Expert

Question:
Does it need to be plugged in to use
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Jason. Yes, it must be plugged in to a grounded 120VAC outlet.

Question:

Question:
Can you use wood chips with this grill for extra smoke flavor?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Mark. Absolutely!

Question:
Is the hood of this one similar to the 1050? Because the 560 seems to be a little thinner steel on the top.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Barry. The lid on both use the same gauge of steel. But the grill cabinet on the 1050 is double walled while the 560 is single walled.

Asked by Barry McClureAnswered by Joey, BBQGuys Expert

Question:
How do you keep the whole hopper full of charcoal from burning up right away? Also, what happens to the remaining charcoal if tthere is still some left in the hopper when you are done cooking>
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Cheryl. As the hot charcoal burns up, it falls into the ash bin below. This keeps the embers from burning up the rest of your charcoal. If there is still charcoal left in the hopper when you're done cooking, you can simply shut off the grill and insert the slides. This will cut off airflow and save your charcoal for the next cook.

Free Shipping on orders over $49

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
