I generally like the stove (Yukon red) and appreciate the reduced smoke. However, you have to sit really close to see the embers and for ambiance, it's not as good as a bowl or ring with lower walls (we have both). So we'll use it and I might take it off the ring to lower it but know it the silver can shape does look less charming.

Fantastic first time use of the Yukon. Incredibly easy to set up and clean the next day. Not having the smoke chasing us around really helped enjoy.

This is a nice firepit, I do wish all the accessories came in a single purchase, you need to piece it together and it feels like all of a sudden it costs a ton of money.

We first noticed the Solo Stove when they were advertised during the Winter Olympics and liked their smart design and corporate policy. We wanted one, but couldn't afford one until we were given some Christmas money. Since using it, we've been very happy with it. It works as advertised. Also, since it's stainless steel, presumably, it will last the elements fairly well (we still invested in a cover; relatively cheap insurance I suppose). All in all, as long as it lasts, it's a good product worth investing in.

The solo stove delivers a nice clean campfire when using kiln dried wood. It is mesmerizing when the flames start to fold in on themselves burning impurities… my wife and friends absolutely love it! But as the person who is in charge of keeping this thing operational, I'm out. I live in Kentucky where we have a very wet spring and an intense humid and hot summer. In other words you can't conveniently use a solo stove in spring or summer. I just spent 45 minutes picking wood out of my solo stove and extinguishing the flames with water (like a normal person does) in a flower bed, then I had to pack it away in it's snug fitting carrier to take the thing under shelter. I asked a friend of mine what it would cost to build a stove out of stainless and it's about what I paid for this thin piece of sheet aluminum. Anyway, thanks a lot for scamming my wife into buying this burden for me. I can already hear the consumer response team… pour sand on your fire pit. Nope that's dumb… I don't want 4 metric tons of sand on my lawn over the course of the summer. I'd rather she had just bought some river stone and we could enjoy a nice naturally aerated fire…

Fired it up last weekend. Lighting was simple, fire stayed hot with minimal effort, and we didn't smell when the night was over. Easy clean up. Looks great. Hope it lasts a long time. If you're on the fence, go ahead and buy. You won't be disappointed.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
